Designer
Achille Castiglioni
(1918-2002). Born in Milan, he started his career as an architect and designer in 1938, in collaboration with the brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo. He is one of the great masters of Italian design and was a founding member of ADI in the 1950s. He received numerous awards, including Compasso d'Oro eight times. His works are characterized by an immediately recognizable mixture of simplicity, irony and pleasure.
The company
Founded in 1921 as a "technical workshop for the processing of brass plates and nickel-silver, with foundry", Alessi has always been known for the high quality of his products.

Most Alessi objects are still produced in Italy - from the establishment of the company in 1921 - by cold processing of the metal, which is the responsibility of the qualified employees in Crusinalo Di Omogna.
